Although Rawai is not an eminent site in Phuket, it presents an idyllic place and simple life with charming beach. Most of local people here make their living in fishery, orchards, and shops. Hence, the plain life is demonstrated right away. A sight of floating long-tailed boats in the sea together with surrounding natural atmosphere shows a simple way of local people’s living and it looks nice. Besides, the Fisherman Village is another place to visit and then learn lifestyle of fisherman in Rawai. The real smiles from local people are not hard to find for sure, also the handmade souvenirs are available and sold at reasonable prices. Let’s go for a walk to look around this tranquil area. To see the sunset here is also recommended. People who like snorkeling, however, always go on jaunt offshore to nearby islands such as Racha Island, Lone Island, Bon Island, Kaew Island, and Hey Island (known as Coral Island), etc. Many activities are available to join in Rawai area such as Thai boxing, traditional Thai massaging, Thai cooking classes, horse riding, and shopping around for local products and fresh products from the local shops. Within walking distance across the road from Rawai Beach, many restaurants and bars are located. Therefore, you can taste many kinds of food, especially seafood while paying less money than expected. Some restaurants are locates seaside, so you can closely enjoy sea view as well as light sea breeze. To have such a nice drink at the beachfront bars while seeing wonderful view is so fabulous here. Another selection of places to go like the Seashell Museum is also situated in Rawai area; once you prefer visiting site containing seashell collections in Thailand to beach activities can enjoy and buy souvenirs from this museum. For accommodation to stay, there are many kinds of it provided in the area such as resort, hotel, guesthouse, and condominium.
Close to Rawai area, a must-go place is Chalong Temple where you go for worshipping Buddha Image and seeing unique Thai architecture. Another famous place of Phuket nearby Rawai called Phromthep Cape is situated, where is a prominent place for romantic couples and tourists to view splendid sunset from the high hill along with beautiful cape lying on the Andaman Sea. In addition, a beach called Laemka Beach close to Rawai is also calm and quiet. Rawai might not be a place for full of entertainment or have many people like Patong.
